We have started our research by visiting Homeworld 5 at Kellyville, Clarendon homes in Parklea and McDonald Jones in Kellyville ridge and visiting almost every house for ideas. The plus side was we got heaps of ideas by going into so many different companies houses, and every house had something different. Some light and airy, some dark, some boring and some packed with so many dressings we couldn't focus on the house properly. I took my iPad and took lots of photos of things I liked and styles of kitchens etc that took out. Blake was more focused on the render colour and the carpet.. Those are his two things he really wants to be amazing. Mine are more the kitchen and bathroom and what to do with colours. Negative thing about doing this: - Every single house we went into when we finished looking we had to have a 10-15 min conversation with the sales people about our block and what we were looking for. - I guess this is our fault for not just saying we were building with someone else but I felt bad! The best thing I found in my research was HOUZZ. An app I got on my iPad and I have found it hard to do anything else other than use this app. Basically it is google images for house pictures. It is amazing. You can type in what style or room you are looking for and find millions of pictures. You then save the pictures you want to folders which you can revisit. Im planning on taking this to our colour appointment to show them what I want the rooms to look like and what features I like.
